|  From the silver screen as a film and television star to the sold out Commodore Ballroom launching his debut single “Duet,” Wes Mack is taking the world of country music by storm. “Hank Williams and The Beatles; I would always listen to those tapes with my parents on long road trips through the mountains. That’s where I learned the melodies and storytelling which influences my music today.” As an artist, Wes Mack has drawn from a wide musical history and has landed himself in good company under the management of Bonnie McGrew at Chief Music MGMT. From there he has enlisted fellow Chief client, and country music powerhouse, Joey Moi to mix his album - Joey has recently produced massively successful albums for Jake Owen, Florida Georgia Line, Dallas Smith and Small Town Pistols. Mack is set to launch his leadoff single as he takes to the stage with Florida Georgia Line in front of a sold out crowd at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver.
Born and raised on the prairies of Alberta, it’s no surprise that he came to love the storytelling and warm melodies of country music. “It was always around when I was growing up. My parents had a lot of it on vinyl and I loved to mess around with the record player.” Mack’s father is also a musician and played in The Sugar and Spice in the late 60’s, topping the Canadian charts with the single “The Cruel War.”
At the age of 18, Wes Mack moved to Vancouver, and played with a number of acclaimed bands including the 2011 Fox Seeds winners; Head of the Herd, playing sold out shows with The Trews and The Sheepdogs. Broadening his horizons he began acting in theatre, film and television. He quickly compiled an impressive resume including work on Smallville, The Vampire Diaries, Continuum, The Phantoms, A Dog Named Christmas and Magic Beyond Words: The JK Rowling Story; a biopic following the tumultuous life of JK Rowling.
In 2012, music and acting fused together when Wes became a recurring fixture on the CBC Western Drama, Heartland, playing an up and coming country musician named Austin Mars (the romantic interest of series lead Jessica Amlee). On the show Wes performed his song “Waiting on Maria,” which is available internationally on iTunes.
Mack has been writing and recording with legendary producers Jeff Johnson and Tom McKillip for the past six months in Vancouver, BC and Nashville, TN. His first single "Duet" features Carly McKillip of One More Girl and is due out to iTunes and Canadian Country Radio June 2013. “I am incredibly proud and excited to share this new music with everyone.”
